Am I Being Punk’d?

Posted by Sandra on November 5, 2008

Ashton?  Where are you?

I mean, how can this be?

No parent would’ve put his name on her ballot – he thinks babies are “punishment” and doesn’t mind them being thrown in the trash (ALIVE!!).  Better yet, he thinks it’s okay to scramble their brains when they’re partially born, THEN throw them in the trash.  So this can’t be it.

No person serving the military would’ve marked this man – he wants to take away their funding, which means they may end up with even worse benefits, or be out of a job altogether!  So nope, not that…

No one who has worked hard to succeed would’ve marked his name – he wants to take YOUR success and give it to some lazy ass who won’t try hard to succeed on their own.  So it can’t be those that have good jobs.

Can’t be anyone that believes in the Constitution – specifically owning a gun.  This liar only wants the bad guys to have them, by making them “illegal”.  So can’t be you.

Can’t be Patriotic Americans either.  This is the guy that hates America.  He gave money to a guy for 20 years that preached it.   I mean, his wife wasn’t even proud to be an American until a few months ago!  Nope.

No one who lives in America would want it – without the military we’re naked.  Terrorists will eat this up.  So anyone who wants to live in freedom without war on our turf wouldn’t vote for him.

Can’t be Christians or other people that believe in a higher god.  No way would they vote for a man that has a mentor that thinks the White God should be killed.  Hmm.

This doesn’t leave many people left that would’ve marked this Marxist Racist America-Hating Liar down… so how did the numbers end up this way?  I mean, last night I heard interviews where people said, “Oh, yes, I voted fo him cuz he’s black!  Hallelujah!!!”, and the old, “I won’ have to worry about paying fo my house now!!”, and things like that… but is that really the majority of voters?  If so, our country was fucked before the election, now it’s just MORE fucked.

My husband thinks this is a good thing.  Thinks it’s a “lesson”.  That we’ll all see how bad an idiot can screw up and maybe next time morons won’t go in all glassy-eyed and disillusioned over a rock star, and vote for the real person capable of running our country.  He has a point, but can we afford this lesson?

Ashton?  Where are you?  This has to be a joke.  After all, the winner of the election is.

I remember hearing a long time ago (as a child in school), that the average democracy (or was it republic?) — whatever the term, it was when the people elected their own leaders — lasted only until people realized they could vote themselves so many benefits from the public coffers and bankrupted their country, which then fell either to civil war or to outside enemies. I love being able to decide the leaders of our own country, but I’m concerned with the attitude portrayed by the famous quote of JFK’s (just turned around backwards) — “Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you.” I think it’s about time to have “no representation without taxation” — if people don’t pay taxes, what right do they have to determine how other people’s taxes will be spent? (And as I say this, I realize that I and my husband with our kids probably are in the “no taxation” bracket with his income and my being a stay-at-home mom [at the federal level, anyway; we pay state, local, and sales tax], so we could not vote in federal elections. Which would be fine for me if all the rest of the people who produce nothing, and only take, also can’t vote.)

Kathy, you bring up an amazing point – I was just reading this blog: http://johnpalm.wordpress.com/; and he said:

Founding father and great thinker, Alexander Hamilton, opposed universal suffrage (that’s letting everyone vote for you People Magazine readers). His basic argument was that those with “skin in the game” should have the responsibility and right to elect the person that will have the power impose taxes upon them. This group includes educated property and business owners.

    Sound harsh? Maybe not.

Carting in “voters” that own nothing to tax (take away private assets from) those who have worked hard to have something seems harsh.

We are making it too easy to vote… it requires no sacrifice. Free Jimmy Buffet concerts. Two week early voting. Mail-a-ballot to your door.

    What’s next?

Ballot inserts in People Magazine — Paris Hilton supports your guy!
Text your vote — Warren Sapp is President! Whoops, wrong button…
Combination Lotto-Ballot — two ways to win big bucks!
As someone wisely said… We get the president we deserve.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

I have been told “God wouldn’t let someone who will destroy our country into office, this has to be a good thing.”

So I guess God didn’t care about all those other countries huh? Germany with Adolph Hitler, Mao Tse-Tung with China, Saddam Hussein with Iraq and lets not forget Joseph Stalin with the USSR.

God gave man the ability to decide between good and evil…and apparently man has chosen evil.

I agree with your husband when he says he thinks it’s a “lesson”, but I’m also terrified to see how long the American people will allow this new dictator to rule before they put an end to it.
